Ha, it was not a thing I knew off the top of my head but I actually went back and checked and was like "FINE, ok, 80s" - I associate it strongly with the 90s but that's because I was a Nineties Kid. Still!

Tam Lin is definitely the high-strung Classics major novel of my heart. I thought about comparing the two in this review and decided that they really weren't alike enough that it's helpful in describing The Secret History; I mean, there are outward similarities, but at heart they're made out of different things.
