They're newer than the Sun Sword books, right? Which puts me a little bit in awe of Michelle West, that she can hold all that backstory in her head all the time! I am looking forward to Jewel getting to do more awesome stuff, though. :D I have to say, the one thing I really like about Jewel is that she keeps acting like a teenager in a fantasy novel, and then she'll stop and think "holy crap, I am not a teenager, I am like THIRTY, when did that happen!" Because much as I love my fantasy-novel kids, heroes that are actually grown-ups are rare and awesome. :D

Yeah, I get why Kallandras and Evayne are being kept vague and mysterious - but it is sort of reassuring to know that I am supposed to be as confused about them as I am! I keep wondering if I missed or forgot something important.
