I totally did read that one! I don't remember what it was called, but I am 99% sure it was by Patricia F. Service, who also wrote the hilarious Winter of Magic's Return and Tomorrow's Magic in which Merlin pops up in a boarding school in the middle of a postapocalyptic nuclear winter.

Used bookstores are the best. :D
