I did! The Song of the Lioness and L.A. Meyer's Bloody Jack books, which I don't know if you know - I was writing on cross-dressing heroines in YA lit. It was super deep and academic, as you can tell. (Well, you'd better keep the Pullman and the Lewis faaar apart at least.)
