Or just an AU - years ago I encountered a PM-based fic that was entirely prose, incorporating the sense of the song into a larger story of, if I recall aright, discrimination against mages in the Great Depression. And shipping, of course. As far as I recall, it didn't have any lines from the song after about the second paragraph, although there were still parallels.
