It also weirded me out a little that almost everyone in the palace had basically the same reaction to the trauma -- enough to agree on a very specific and conspiratorial course of action -- and everyone in the city had a different reaction. Like, I appreciate that they're all treated with compassion, but surely at least some of the people in the palace would have a different response . . .?
