Ha, combo of family history and timing, I think! I was uneasy about the Yiddish at first because I worried it was pasted on/set dressing, especially when Pandora picked it up from Lulie and started throwing it into conversation, but once I realized she was actually doing stuff with the refugee themes I forgave her the awkwardness of the Yiddish.
(Also, in addition to the refugee stuff, I was not expecting it to be anywhere near as queer as it was either!)
