I'm pretty sure her being both Trish and Pat at once is what the book is intended to be doing, though of course how successful it is is also a question. It works for me, but you can find me in the acknowledgments as the lesbian sex consultant, so I have always had some investment in the book in that way where one wants things to go well that one has assisted.
