I would say YES DEFINITELY, but I love those books with a passion that is not reasonable, and also hit them at a formative age. However, the general consensus is that it's probably good to get about a hundred pages into Game of Kings before making a judgment call.

(There are a lot of characters, there are a lot of bits where DD shows off her foreign language quotes knowledge - especially in Game of Kings, she gets better about it after that - but there are also a lot of bits that are utterly brilliant. In my humble opinion etc.)
