It's definitely Methodists and Presbyterians, because Anne and the Cuthberts are emphatically Presbyterian (and Tory) and in the later books, Miss Cornelia loathes both Grits and Methodists and, after conceding to marry a Grit (Norman? I think his name was Norman) says that at least he's not a Methodist, because that would be just too far.
