I don't find the T. Kingfisher stuff twee! It's definitely got a very specific Style and if you try one I think you will be able to tell pretty quickly if that style is one that works for you or if it doesn't. Of the books of hers I've read I probably liked the Clocktaur Wars duology best; it felt like reading someone's RPG fanfic but in an extremely very enjoyable way.
