I did actually love the Suder plot, but even then he died! Which I sort of understood but still! Give me more Suder doing therapy and occasionally getting to murder people to help the crew out!

I remember once slightly drunkenly coming up with all the ways we would want to rewrite Voyager with a friend of mine, and I don’t exactly remember what we came up with but I do remember that we decided a) the Maquis/Star Trek thing would actually be a conflict and we’d go on for a while, b) Tom Paris would die in the first two episodes and we’d keep the Betazoid pilot lady, c) Tuvok would get more plots all the time, and d) Suder would stick around for the whole show as a secondary character who popped into a couple of episodes each season. Also probably we killed Neelix too, honestly.
