genarti got the mushroom book out of the library and talked it up so much that I forced her to wait to give it back until it was two weeks overdue so I had a chance to read it too...

I thought Color of Distance was going to be a somewhat long and dense read when I first picked it up but then I ended up racing through it, it was extremely compelling/propulsive for such a worldbuilding-heavy sf novel!
