It's one of my favorites, although I know it is so extremely weird that I don't expect anyone else to like it ever; I used to try and force it on people, and they'd inevitably get through two pages of the Sector Controller anxiously pondering the Bannus and then the abrupt switch to Hume and the dragon and quit in a fit of confusion before they even got to Ann. I should reread it too one of these days, come to that.

And he SO IS. I desperately want a film just so Eccleston can play him, even though I suspect it's an unfilmable book.
