skygiants: Princess Tutu, facing darkness with a green light in the distance (costume drama)

[livejournal.com profile] schiarire asked me for my top five Capital Scandal outfits!

And I think I may have a problem. See, last night I gamely started screencapping, and as a beginning I offer you these gems:

1.

Pride of place has to go to this outfit of Cha Song Joo's. Not only because the dress is gorgeous, and I love the black gloves with the ties round her wrists and the bracelets and the sparkly purse, but also because it is the outfit in which she first demonstrates her exceptional skill with firearms:

(Did I include those pictures just because I can never resist the opportunity to imagespam the world with Cha Song Joo? MAYBE.)

2 and 3.

I can't decide which is better! The FULL CHECKERED SUIT with the hilarious orange hat, or the ridiculously gorgeous patterned hanbok.

Actually, with a closer look, I think the hanbok has to win, because of the accessorizing.

BUTTERFLY HAT. *______*

What is clearly best though is when the two are combined:

Two great tastes that go great together!

4.

I humbly submit to you that this pink confection (with matching pink fedora! *_*) is the most dashing suit in the history of menswear. The Scarlet Pimpernel would be SO PROUD.

5.

On the one hand, gorgeous and elegant as this hanbok is, it's hard to compete with the butterfly hat. On the other hand, it's worn by Cha Song Joo.

Now, here is my dilemma: all of these amazing costumes came from one episode. ONE EPISODE. (Episode four, for the record.) This does not even include the completely anachronistic Marilyn Monroe takeoff, or the villainous suspenders, or the adorable thirties-style women's suits. Or the FLORAL FEDORA.

And [livejournal.com profile] rushin_doll and I have been slowly showing the series to [livejournal.com profile] innerbrat, which means I'm exposed to a new set of gorgeousness about every week, and I. I. Kind of want to do one of these for every episode now? It's just there are so many costumes! And they are all so amazing! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE.

INTERNET, HELP ME.

Dude, you have no idea how hard it is not to watch the series without you. I'm trying so hard to find something to fill in the space where I'm not watching Capital Scandal!

This makes me miss the incomprehensible Chinese period dramas I watched in Harbin.

I think Cha Song Joo's outfit in the last episode is the most beautiful! But when I see it I cry!
