tbh the gore isn't actually my problem with zombies, I just find them so deeply uninteresting that they drag down the interest level of anything they're paired with, so a story has to be PARTICULARLY interesting to overcome the area effects of zombie boredom, lol. And this one sounds promising for being able to do so!
