Jun. 6th, 2009 01:12 pmNon-NYC-local people: I will stop posting Housing Works stuff of no relevance to you sometime soon, I promise.
NYC-local people: Guys I can't believe I forgot to tell you about this earlier! Today is the Housing Works Open Air Street Fair, which means that we are selling a BAJILLION books as well as CDs and records and things for a dollar each, and also there is thrift store stuff too. It is all nonprofit - the money goes to Housing Works - and it is supercheap, which combined means guilt-free book buying! And I know there is lots of awesome stuff, because my job has been to keep the tables stocked and I am having to seriously restrain myself from running off with all of it. Which job I am sneaking away from for a moment to tell you all to come if you have a chance at all.
Because seriously, is there a better way to spend a gorgeous sunny Saturday than in a tiny cobblestoned street in NYC that is COMPLETELY FILLED on either side with $1 books? I submit to you, no! There is no better way!
