VOYAGER CATCH UP. I said I wanted to post about the first half of S6 before we were actually done with s6 and have not .... quite achieved that, technically, but TODAY we start the seventh and final season so I feel like if I post today it more or less counts, spiritually, emotionally, etc.

( Voyager Season 6, episodes 1-13 )

Overall early S6 not a high point in our Voyager experience, with some exceptions; it feels like we're on a little bit of a downward arc after the highs of S4/S5, but we will see what the future holds!

This week on Voyager --

THE DOCTOR: I was quite a shutterbug [18 months ago]. Not a day went by when I didn't record an image for posterity.
ME: hey do we remember the Doctor being very into photography 18 months ago?
innerbrat: I think perhaps every episode of Voyager takes place in a very slightly different AU from every other one

Anyway, I did mean to catch up on Voyagerposting two weeks ago, but in the two weeks since we have seen two episodes we really quite enjoyed back-to-back (including the one with the Doctor's new old photography hobby) so perhaps it's for the best that I'm going into this post on a high!

( Voyager Season 5, Episodes 1-11 )

innerbrat reminded me that it had been 8 episodes since my last Voyager write-up! It has now been over a week since then so actually it has been 9 episodes since my last Voyager write-up, but this means I get the reward of writing about ~*~white tuxedo Janeway~*~ in this batch so in this case procrastinating served me well...

We've finished Season 3 of Voyager! At the beginning of this post I wrote 'Broadly speaking, we liked it!' but in fact now I'm reviewing I realize that I do not actually think many of the individual episodes were that great BUT THEN WORST CASE SCENARIO HAPPENED and rose-tinted my entire perception of the season, well done Worst Case Scenario.

... but first we went back and watched the VITAL episode of Season 2 that we somehow completely missed, lol, thank you to everyone from my last post expressing distress at this situation because the whole Janeway/Chakotay arc of S3 would have been deeply mystifying to us without it. GREAT episode. LOVED seeing Janeway and Chakotay attempt to balance SCIENCE! and ROMANCE! while STRANDED IN A ROBINSONIAD! ( spoilers for this episode in particular as well as broad s3 arcs )

Great news, everyone: we got past the lizard sex episode of Voyager and somehow we're still going! This is a wonderful achievement given that innerbrat states this episode is what originally compelled her to quit not just Voyager but all space-related television, in its entirety, for several decades.

( Voyager S2, episodes 6-15 )

We're actually a couple episodes ahead of here by now but I think the infamous lizard sex episode is a reasonable place to leave off, returning soon with more hits like "we still love to see B'Elanna be an irritable genius" and "every Star Trek ship desperately needs a legal department."

I just checked and we're only four episodes away from having seen the whole first season of Voyager? That went so fast! Anyway, this was already a vast improvement, I would say that I solidly liked a good fifty percent of these episodes at least.
