This is why I need to watch more Old Who! Because I keep vaguely intending to and then failing at that.

I've only seen bits and pieces, but I saw at least one ep per companion when I made "When All Is Said And Done", so I know more or less what they're all like.

Have you seen Battlefield? You need to see Battlefield. Especially if you're the least bit interested in Arthurian myth. I'm not, particularly, so it works even if you're not. :-)

Or you could just try the first part of An Unearthly Child. The First Doctor is a wonderful old grump.

I can imagine her trying to activate Captain Subtext with total seriousness.
