Mar. 19th, 2007 01:32 amThings Accomplished This Weekend:
Seven-page film studies paper: done! Though whether it makes any sense at all I will probably not know until tomorrow morning when I go to edit it and go 'AUGH AUGH PAINFUL PHRASING AUGH WHAT ON EARTH DID I MEAN BY THAT WHAT WAS I THINKING.' But at least it looks nice and long on the page.
Wacky Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers film: viewed! With friends at the old movie theater in town; I find this theater uber-cool 'cause it has an organ that comes up from the floor! (I am possibly easily entertained.) This film was maybe the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time. The conclusion was all, "Look! Let us stick FIFTY SHOWGIRLS on top of TWENTY TINY PLANES and have them dance in midair and occasionally almost drop each other to painful deaths from great heights!" And yet somehow, all is well.
Pretty dress that I will probably never get a chance to wear: purchased! Because it's pretty. And because I just got paid from over the summer, and I am feeling wealthy even though . . . I am not. But it is a very pretty dress, and it was only 25 bucks, so I am still feeling like it was kind of a win.
Many, many, many orange-flavored cranberies: eaten! I am getting sadly addicted to these. Why anyone would take cranberies and flavor them orange, I haven't the faintest idea . . . and yet.
Things Still To Accomplish Over The Week:
Ten-page Auden paper: to be written. It would help if I had decided what poems I was actually going to write about, maybe. Uh.
Several books: to be purchased or acquired through devious methods. On Friday I fly out to Philadelphia, and from Philly straight to Florida, and then am spending the weekend in Florida with the family where as far as I know the only plan is to loll about on the beach all day, and then I am flying back, and I am already nearly out of reading material! This must be remedied. Guys? If there are books you have been dying to recommend to someone, now is your chance, because I am going to need text and I am going to need a lot of it.
