Apr. 1st, 2007 03:18 pmYou know, I love BSG, but I go very slowly with the catching up - I think I can only watch so many episodes of it in a row before I get overwhelmed by the unending doom and have to go marathon something light and fluffy instead. Over winter break it was Avatar. This break it's been the BBC Robin Hood, and I LOVE IT TO PIECES. It is so beautifully, unrepentantly cheesy and anachronistic, and scrawny grinning Robin Hood prances about in his hemi-semi-demi-wannabe-period green hoodie sweatshirt, and Guy of Gisborne is a GIANT DORK who can't ask girls out on dates, and the sheriff sells his 'bwahaha pure evil' and makes me love it, and the fight scenes are the most ridiculousy overedited things ever, and, like, the bad guys just kind of stop and let the good guys escape every time, and I adore it. (And if I wasn't sold before, the awful "I Shot the Sheriff" puns in the third episode would have had me for good. I'm a cheap sell. I know.)
ETA: Not apropos of anything, by the way, but I've been meaning to say it and this pretty squeeful post seems like a good place -
furikku linked to some discussions of posts that are and are not welcoming of debate and disagreement a few days ago, and I just want to say that analysis and debate of any kind is always welcome in this journal. Feel free to tell me things suck! I am happy to argue. :D
