If you're looking for places to stay directly in the area of Bryant Park, you're probably going to have the easiest commute time from the Times Square-ish hotels, which are right nearby. But anywhere in midtown Manhattan should be in reasonable subway distance. (I would offer you to stay with me, but it sounds like that is probably not going to be close enough for what you want.)
