That's pretty much how I feel about books -- I love having people recommend things to me, and 99 books out of 100 I read are probably things I've either seen general or specific recommendations for from people I trust.
...but it's also difficult to share the experience of reading a book in real-time, so maybe I'd feel differently if that were possible! I like socially watching stuff because it's pretty much the only way to effectively share the experience of encountering a story in real-time. Well, OK, I mean, I guess role-play -- written or D&D -- is like that too. So not the only way! BUT SHARING STORIES IS SO GREAT.
