skygiantsThis is belated Purimgifts letter! Apologies to whoever is writing for me -- I didn't expect sign-ups to go out so fast, but I am so glad you signed up to write a thing for me and I am really looking forward to whatever you come up with. :D
(A note: I am Jewish! And a woman! But I have never, personally, been persecuted by an evil vizier.)
Things I love generally: women and interesting interactions of all kinds between women, ensemble stories, sibling dynamics, weird crossovers generally and weird Purim crossovers in specific!
A few Purim-specific notes on each of these fandoms
Gyeongseong Scandal/Capital Scandal: Cha Song Joo is one of my favorite characters in all of media ever, but I also love all the other women on this show (Na Yeo Kyeong! Young Ran! Yeo Kyeong's mom!) and would love to read anything about any of them. For this fandom, I am totally OK with fix-it AUs or AUs in general (now that I'm thinking about it, a Purim/menaced-by-an-evil-vizier AU starring Song Joo or Yeo Kyeong in the Esther role could be kind of hilarious) but post- or pre-canon fic could also be really interesting!
Baccano!: I absolutely love all five hundred violent weirdos in this bar, but right now I'm especially interested in postcanon Eve Genoard, pre- or post-canon Nice and Jacuzzi and the delinquent gang, and Rachel and Elean of the Daily Days (WEIRD PLUCKY REPORTERS, MY FAVE.) I would also be very happy to read fic which supposed that any of these characters were Jewish!
Fiddler on the Roof - Bock/Harnick/Stein: I have previously received really delightful Fiddler on the Roof Purimgifts and they made me so happy that I am going to keep asking for them! Postcanon fic about sisters is my jam (postcanon fic about sisters staging heists to rescue each other from Sibera is extra my jam but absolutely not required)
Howl series - Diana Wynne Jones: There are many potential Purimgifts routes here, any of which would be very pleasing to me: a.) fic about Sophie and her sisters; b.) fic in which Howell Jenkins or Ben Sullivan come from a Jewish Welsh family (there are still 2000 Jews in Wales!); or c.) fic in which one of Ingary's neighbors is having difficulties with an evil vizier. (MAYBE Howl has to go undercover as a prospective bride of Ahasueros? Maybe Vashti or Esther is part of the penpal circle of Princesses Kidnapped By A Djinn That One Time? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS.)
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: SPACE JEWS!!! For the record, the Bajorans, the Ferengi, and the Vulcans all definitely count as space Jews as far as I'm concerned, which is convenient because one of the things I would love to see most is fic about INTREPID STARFLEET CAPTAIN NOG. (Here are some of my thoughts from a few years ago on the space captain Nog show I wish to see in the world, but please feel free to ignore them in favor of your own cherished Space Captain Nog headcanons!) If Nog doesn't float your boat, I would also love enormously anything focused on Kira.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal: I just rewatched this whole show for Yuletide so I'm feeling a tremendous general outpouring of love for, again, everyone in this bar, but also, specifically, a stronger-even-than-usual conviction that Cho-seon is one of the gayest characters on this show -- a show which features a truly epic amount of competition in that category! -- and NEEDS A GIRLFRIEND, STAT. (Maybe Hyo-eun, who has been waiting SO LONG for someone really dashing to sweep her off her feet! Maybe an OC! Maybe a Jewish OC!) I would also be extremely happy to watch the Jalgeum Quartet fight an evil vizier.
Ladies of Grace Adieu - Susannah Clarke: I want to read five million stories about David Montefiore and Tom Brightwind Having Adventures and Arguing Ethics!!!
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971): There's no way Eglantine Price gave up witchcraft for good, right? I want to read what happened to her next, and about her adorable found family with her terrible British orphans, and what kind of adventures they all got up to. Maybe weird crossover adventures! MAYBE ADVENTURES WITH EVIL VIZIERS.
