They called it a tesseract! But also it felt like it only got brought up really briefly? Several of us were complaining afterwards that Meg didn't get to explain it, and I'm like "I'm SURE I remember her explaining it in a trailer!" which indeed she did; I'm not sure why they cut that out of the film, as I'd rather have gotten it from Meg than from Chris Pine, as charming as he was.
