I still find it wildly hilarious that Elizabeth Wein spends an ENTIRE BOOK building up Arthur, Lleu, the Lleu-Medraut Thing, and Lleu's worthiness to eventually become king, only to unceremoniously kill ALL OF THEM OFF in the VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH of A Coalition of Lions.
As one of the people who waited ten years for a sequel to The Winter Prince, I was extremely jarred by that.
Fortunately, I really liked Goewin, so it worked out.
