You know, I hadn't thought about it until reading this, but treatment of the fae is one of the areas in which I think Clarke and Cho differ quite strongly -- or rather they are an expression of the way in which they differ most strongly, perhaps. To me JS&MN fairyland was touched with the horror/wonder of the unknowable and irreconcilable, where SttC fairyland felt alien, more foreign perhaps than human Others, but still within grasp.
