skygiants: Moril from the Dalemark Quartet playing the cwidder (composing hallelujah)

I think part of it is that the gods show up throughout this book in ways that are more traditional and formal -- ambiguous prophecies delivered through an oracle, offerings made and received, highly visible miracles -- as opposed to the surprising and terrifying casualness of the ways that they've interacted with Gen in the past and thinking about it more that may well be deliberate, a reflection of Eugenides stepping fully into the role of annux, but I still .... don't like it .....

Yeah, I personally loved Pheris and Pheris as protagonist and found his journey really gripping but am very much looking forward to the thoughts of people more qualified to comment than me!
