I am told that the ones I am being handed are only the top tier and specially designed to appeal to my tastes (there was a long consultation about one that featured a dead wife -- "it's very good!" said my friend, anxiously, "but Becca doesn't like manpain, so it might not be right --") so I think this is probably a very good tactic tbh!
