rymenhild and I spent a good chunk of the way back from Rochester passing our iPods back and forth in an attempt to compile Princess Tutu playlists, because we are giant dorks. She posted her gorgeous playlist the other day, so now it is my turn! Thanks to rymenhild and genarti both for suggestions. (Some of you will notice that a few of these songs made it onto the 'ten songs I am really into right now' list that I posted a week or so back. This . . . is not coincidence.)

Kraehe's initial characterization, on the other hand: evil sexy princess! But of course there's a lot more to her than that.

Yes, you have to genderswitch, and yes, I am possibly giggling a little at the idea of Fakir as a flower, but I don't care; it still works for him way too well as he tries to fill the role he thinks he has to.

Fakir has what we might call a conflicted relationship with certain ravenesque characters.

No one is saying Rue and Mytho have a healthy relationship, because that would be a lie. It is part of their charm! Um. Doubly relevant in the second season, when blood suddenly takes on twice the significance.

I am ending with my ultimate Princess Tutu song; I can't even talk about it because I identify it so much with the series and the title character. And it's beautiful.
