So, after a lot of battling over our single household copy (including an underhanded theft that ended the book up in Europe and forced my father to sit in the living room listening to the end on tape) my entire family has finished reading Harry Potter 7.


My brother claims that "She killed off 11/20ths of the Weasley twins!" He also has decided that the very sad death of his guinea pig, Dobby, a week before the release of the book was prophetic, and has been walking around proclaiming dramatically that "ART IMITATES LIFE."

My dad has decided that he 'ships Dumbledore/Grindelwald; in his own words, he finds it "extremely plausible for young men of that age" who have just found someone who really understands them. I'm fairly sure the word "soultwin" was used.

As for my mom, she just wants to know if Harry and Ginny spend long nights together talking about their complex relationships with the Dark Lord and the way it felt to have Voldemort inside them.

That is also a valid question that no one in my family thought to ask!

Although my dad did want to know if George could take one of Fred's ears as a replacement. It's not like Fred will be needing them, after all.

*grins* My mom was going on a business trip, and she decided that since she was going to be spending hours on a plane, it was her right to take reading material with her! Which would have been fine, if my dad hadn't been 3/4 of the way through it when it happened.
