skygiants: Princess Tutu, facing darkness with a green light in the distance (elizabeth book)

There are many, many books I have been lusting over the past few weeks. First of all, it seems that late summer and fall is when all the sci-fi/fantasy sequels come out: Making Money; The Sons of Heaven, the conclusion to Kage Baker's Company series, which I have been following with extreme emotional attachment for five or six years now; The Fox, the sequel to Sherwood Smith's Inda, which I read recently and loved due to really spectacular worldbuilding; Red Seas Under Red Skies, the second in Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastards series, the first of which was a wacky fun crime-capers-go-high-fantasy read; and, of course, Empire of Ivory.

And then there is this. Which I saw when I was at the local Borders, where it is now one of the Featured Books, and OH DO I EVER WANT.

. . . but when I went to the bookstore today to buy the text I needed for class, what I emerged with was not any of these, but a vegetarian cookbook.

While I am living in a dorm that doesn't have a kitchen.

It was on sale, all right? *HUGS IT DEFENSIVELY*
