For the 27th, esmenet asked me to talk about fics/crossovers/adaptations that should exist but alas do not!

This is SO LARGE A TOPIC that I don't even know where to begin, except with the big generalities:

- everything should be a musical. EVERYTHING.
- everything should have a crossover with Revolutionary Girl Utena and/or Princess Tutu, as I have previously attempted to demonstrate
- everything should have a crossover with The Middleman, as I have not attempted to demonstrate, but I wish somebody else would
- everything should have a crossover with Capital Scandal that fixes the ending

Other than that, I'm sort of stumped. I mean, I LOVE crossovers. I will talk about crossovers for hours! Especially really obscure crossovers that all of two other people will appreciate. An incomplete list of crossovers that I have half-talked people into writing for me and that I would probably sell a portion of my soul to see in their entirety:

1. the Capital Scandal/Legend of Korra crossover in which Cha Song Joo and Lin Bei Fong team up for noir adventures that shati wrote me a glorious thousand words about
2. the Twelve Kingdoms/Fullmetal Alchemist crossover in which Hawkeye is a kirin that genarti wrote me a couple of drabbles about
3. okay, I guess this is not a crossover per se, but nextian's Pride and Prejudice and Napoleonic Occupation, which is a work of pure genius
4. OH HEY esmenet isn't there a Gokusen/Revolutionary Girl Utena crossover you're writing for me . . . :D?

We'll leave that here for now, but rest assured that if you have a crossover idea in your head, I PROBABLY THINK IT'S BRILLIANT AND WANT IT TO HAPPEN.

Everything SHOULD be crossed over with Middleman! Also, Leverage. Or both at the same time.

AGREED. And those things should of course very emphatically be crossed over with each other!

You could even use the Faberge egg job. Matt Keeslar was there! In the episode! And I'm sure a stolen Faberge egg could cause a pretty exotic problem, right?

I am not so sure about the musical part after watching part of a kdrama that sticks songs in. Like, one random number per episode. I've seen only four eps, so I don't know how it ends, except that I think I do!

NO THAT SOUNDS AMAZING THOUGH. I watched about half of the kdrama called The Musical, and my biggest quibble with it was that it didn't actually have musical numbers!

I still need to write the crossover with Master Keaton to get an in-universe feel for Monster fic before I go rappelling down that particular elevator shaft. (But it will come to fruition because it will eat my soul otherwise.)

But also everything Danger 5. Because Danger 5 is the Middleman mirrorverse. (Not the mirrorverse in Middleman, but the mirroverse of Middleman.)

Me trying to explain Danger 5. It's a cult-tastic sf-nal 1960s Nazi-hunting thingamob.

And there is a BRILLIANT Danger 5 fic sitting in the Yuletide archive right now. It might make more serse if you watch the show. Alternatively, the show will make more sense if you read the fic. It's a difficult call to make.

I was given the main characters as a prompt from a random generator, and something inside my head went SPRUNG almost audibly and then it was almost four thousand words later.

I do wish I'd ever managed to come up with a title for the thing, but it first came out on LJ in like '09 and people still email me about it, so.

AS WELL THEY SHOULD. Man, I feel that fic is like enough to prove my thesis right there. IT WORKS WITH EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING.

THERE IS. I am just ... slightly allergic to writing things at the moment! I think this comment is the first thing I've written at all in like a week and a half, apart from one sentence about being forced to go to church.

I am actually SUPER EXCITED to write it, too. I just haven't! Soon. Soon.


Also, did I ever tell you how happy I was when I finally understood that icon of yours? Because it was kind of ridiculous. (MY PERIOD OF EROTIC SIBLING REPRESENTATION IS OVER, I say to myself yet again.)

It's just frustrating because it's like: I want to write it! But I haven't! I have all the background thinking done, now I just have to sit down and do the actual writing work.

(I am still sad you never wrote a prolonged Ouran/Middleman crossover, by the way. That bit in the Ouran/everything fic was SO GOOD, and I read it before I watched the Middleman, and then after I did I went back and read it again and it was SO MUCH BETTER.)

I am PERSONALLY OFFENDED that "Everything should have a crossover with The Homeward Bounders" is not on the list! That being said: I too want the Fullmetal Alchemist/The Twelve Kingdoms crossover.
