Overall I did not read as many books this year as I have in previous years; this is probably largely due to writing a thesis in the spring and being confusingly demi-employed in the fall. Also 39 of the 126 books I read were rereads, which is more than a quarter -- a lot for me! -- and I did a lot of comfort reading, and a lot of binge-reading of lengthy genre series(...es?), and not a lot of reading of nonfiction (only 14 of the total, counting generously). Ah, well, we'll see what happens in the new year.

Because of the December meme, I also am more behind than usual on booklogging, but I do intend for most of the rest of this list to get a writeup in the next week or two! That said, if you are dying to know my thoughts on anything in particular, feel free to ask!

Out of curiosity, about how much time per day do you spend reading books?

It depends on where I'm going in the day -- the vast majority of my reading is done on the subway. I would guess it's usually somewhere between one and two hours on the days I'm working and therefore transit-ing.
