Ha, you can recognize the stuff from S2 if you're looking because it is really visually dramatic (GIANT GLOWY JINORA) but ... less well-animated ... no, but Jinora's arc IN S2 is actually great, it's just everything that happens in Republic City and the South Pole that's often quite painful.

Right. It's all that stuff that I will find difficult to avoid or get out of my head afterward. What happened with Season 2? The last two seasons are supposed to be even better than the first!

From what I heard, even the creators were incredibly frustrated with season 2! My understanding is that it was a combination of not knowing if they were coming back after S1, not knowing how much story they were going to get afterwards, and network fussing. It did feel a lot to me like with S3 they were finally getting to the story they really wanted to tell.

For the record, here are two sets of recommendations for how/what to watch of s2! I tend to agree a bit more with aberration's version in comments, but both are valid and useful.
