This sounds delightful. I'm not sure if I'm more into "Ophelia correctly clocks that he's started stoically pining after her like two-thirds of the way through book one and her reaction is a hilarious YIKES" or "Ophelia's ever-present and very irritable magically animated pet scarf"; they both sound amazing.

The description of the scarf in particular is giving me a bit of a Diana Wynne Jones vibe. Is that accurate?
