c.) if you haven't heard about itch.io's truly ridiculous Black Lives Matter bundle, it is seven hundred! and forty!! games of various sorts for five dollars or as much as you want to contribute, with all proceeds split between the NAACP and Community Bail Fund. I purchased on principle & out of general enthusiasm and now I'm just staring in overwhelmed desperation at this truly enormous pile of indie game material; perhaps I will never actually play any of the games, and only sleep on top of them, like a dragon too afraid to wade into her hoard.

d.) via nextian, I discovered this spreadsheet of Black Lives Matter vocab in Yiddish; two hours later, my Yiddish teacher emailed the same spreadsheet and recommended we all study it for our next class. Anyway, if you're wondering how to say 'daloy politsey', here's the classic version of the Yiddish anti-cop anthem and here's a punk-rock version.

I saw that and was pleased. Now I hope they stop shutting their stations at the behest of the police. I preferred the thing where they made transit home from protests free.

That's neat: that's the original fusion of "In Ale Gasn" and "Daloy Politsey" by Zalman Mlotek that has since become the standard. (Would crediting the singers have killed anyone?)

oh I'm so glad it was useful! I love the spreadsheet so much ... I'm also laughing really hard at how they tactfully get round directly telling you how to say 'all cops are bastards' by couching it as the potentially useful factual phrase, 'there is graffiti on the wall saying 'all cops are bastards.'' A thing one might need to say, to describe the scenery! Can't argue with that! Anyway, ale politsiantn zenen khazeyrim.
