It's called out in-canon that Jon Archivist is a case of Dunning-Kruger archiving, in that his lack of training in archival practice or library science leads him to not ask the questions he should be asking about why, lacking said training, he has just been appointed as Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London.

This is unfortunate for him.
