Okay, it is official - I've been enjoying the show so far, but this is the first episode that had me so invested I was literally making incoherent noises at the screen. IT HAS CONQUERED. I had to e-mail shati in the middle of the episode to flail, except my gmail is currently not letting me into my account, so I WILL FLAIL ALL OVER LJ INSTEAD, SORRY ABOUT THAT.



Um I may be a horrible person for this, but I was shrieking ten times more over JOHN HENRY SAVING SAVANNAH BECAUSE THEY ARE SIBLING BFF!!!!!!! and LYING FOR ELLISON TO GET SAVANNAH BACK!!!! than over Derek dying. Uh. Possibly I have become overinvested in the wrong half of the show? BUT. JOHN HENRY. SAVANNAH. !!!!!!! CATHERINE WEAVER REINFORCING JOHN HENRY'S JESUS COMPLEX!!!!!! ELLISON!!!!!! "EVERYWHERE I GO, THERE YOU ARE." IS THAT NOT THE SOUND OF INEVITABLE SARAH/ELLISON OTP I THINK IT IS.


ALSO UM THE END OF THE EPISODE FOR WHICH I HAVE NO WORDS.

ETA: ALSO oh hey remember that episode earlier this season where Derek was helping Lauren and her pregnant mom that Sarah, John, etc. saved nine months earlier, presumably in normal-show continuity? Does this mean that we actually lost nine months of show realtime during that one episode? WHERE DID THOSE NINE MONTHS GO?

(I am totally awestruck at how they have had all of three scenes together, and packed into those scenes more chemistry than anyone else on the show! Except maybe Jesse/Riley.)

EXCHANGING KIDNAPPED FOR THEIR OWN PROTECTION CHILDREN IS MORE ROMANTIC THAN A SHARED TUB OF POPCORN.

Becca, Gen and I laughed so hard when Sarah was trying to explain how WE DO NOT KILL PEOPLE FOR NO REASON IN THIS HOUSE, and Cameron was like, But I only want to kill him!

(To be fair, they've had more than three scenes together. Just three encounters. BUT SERIOUSLY.)

SO, SO VERY TRUE. AND MORE INDICATIVE OF COMPATIBLE LIFE INTERESTS!

HAHAHAHA ME TOO. Cameron is all, "it's not like I want to kill everyone! Mooooom!" Also speaking of hilarious Terminator-parental figure interactions, HOW FUNNY was John Henry trying to lie to Catherine Weaver? "I, um, I lost the files. They were on the moon. With Steve. :D?"

(Okay point, but still, over the course of a two-season show that is not a lot!)

I am still afraid of what will happen if John Henry gets angry, but I have to admit, he was very (creepily) adorable in this episode. He wants Savannah back! Cameron is like him! Mommy and Daddy are fighting and he has to lie for both of them! HEAVEN HAS A HARDWARE PROBLEM.

SO ADORABLE SHATI. They sneakily IM each other in class! And talk to each other on the phone when doing homework! Also I cling to the hope that the Cain-Abel "maybe you're God" conversation, aside from hilariously reinforcing John Henry's God complex, means that foreshadowing is pointing away from John Henry hurting Savannah. Because he's not Cain or Abel, see!

Also also, I have meta thoughts, because I honestly think that the reason John Henry is so concerned about Savannah is because she expresses affection for him, all "this is my BFF John Henry!" And we've sort of seen John Henry trying for that before - with Ellison, and Ellison was all mrfhrgle :-/ - and obviously, uh, that is not something Catherine Weaver can provide, and not something she anticipates John Henry would want. But apparently he does! And vice versa for Savannah, really.

Oh, man, they are SO CUTE. The IM conversation! The phone! I was literally flailing gleefully at the screen during those early scenes. Most adorable baby robot-small girl sibling friendship ever.

Ummm. Possible! Was season 1 really nine months before season 2? It feels like not that much time should have passed overall between them coming to the future and current-time . . .

Well, there was a space of like five minutes between season 1 and season 2, and I really doubt the first nine episodes took place over nine months, so ... no. That theory fails.

I think we're back to: the only way it works is if the baby's birth is a flash forward. And hahaha. Remember how I was all, "Well, then we know that Derek's still alive nine months in the future!" VERY CUTE, SHOW.

This is the best review of that episode, EVER, and I agree with all of it 300 percent. (And your previous review and all your and shati's comments therein!) JOHN HENRY! ELLISON! SARAH/ELLISON OTP forever!! Even if I'm still not sure either about where those nine months went...

Maybe the nine months went into an alternate timeline! Ummm.

SARAH/ELLISON IS RIDICULOUSLY OTP the writers must be aware of this! And John Henry <333333 I am pretty sure he is my favorite character right now. SO BIZARRELY ADORABLE.
