skygiants: Autor from Princess Tutu gesturing smugly (let me splain)

Meme thieving time!

Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom.

I think you guys can guess pretty well what I know, and if I don't know the fandom, I will totally make some up. John Sheppard does not love Rodney; his true love is a piece of cheese!

Princess Tutu! (Are there any unpopular opinions in that fandom? I mean, my experience has been lurking, but it seems to be pretty friendly and snugly.)

2. Part of me finds that rather badass, and also calls to mind many potentially crazy shenanigans~

3. You're probably not the first to think that. (Not that I ship Mytho/Fakir or Ahiru/Rue a little bit. Because I don't. ......*cough* Nope. >_>; *whistles*)

2. It always confuses me when people say theirs was this perfect happily-ever-after situation. I've always thought of their ending as somewhat bittersweet; they have each other, but each other may not be the thing that both of them really need. If that made sense at all.

3. Autor/Rue is one of my guiltier guilty-pleasure ships.

I totally just realized that I put "flying" instead of "moving". I can't believe I did that. *facepalms at self*

If my younger brother moved to fantasyland without telling me, I would totally kick his butt for not taking me with him.

I think you need to make something up about Hetalia. (And John Sheppard does love a piece of cheese. Its name is Goudette, and they're having a commitment ceremony this August.)

Australia has a character design! (And a koala.) So someday he might appear in a strip, someday...

Given that we've seen Sweden shirtless, there actually is evidence against that, but maybe he's just really really good at binding, idk. Oddly, I think that might make Finland even more scared of him...

Tony is superior to all! The rest of the characters are terrified of him and do whatever he says. This is trufax.

(Canon does give us Seychelles, who is a tiny African island, but she doesn't show up much at all, it's true. Although apparently in the video game, which she is the star of, she belongs to a class full of other black kids? And you are right about there being no South America or South/southeast Asia. But I did find one really good fic about various made-up-by-the-author African Nations, so at least there is that?)

1. I can definitely see that. Sophy needs to remain an independent woman, arranging everyone's lives around her, for the rest of her life! She'll make a TERRIFYING maiden aunt.

2. Well, yes. [livejournal.com profile] grondfic has written a long sequence slashing Robin (after his marriage!) with a mixed-race homosexual spy (I think) from the eighteenth-century BBC costume drama City of Vice, and there is lots of Robin being a jerk. In drag.

3. I do like Venetia very much, for two main reasons: (a) Venetia and Damerel, unlike the great majority of Heyer couples, actually have sexual tension. (b) Aubrey: the brilliant/sarcastic/eccentric/awesome Georgette Heyer little brother.

I just read Unknown Ajax and was disappointed by it. Oh well.

Dude. Seriously.

I mean, I like Dumbledore, but master manipulator. But then again, I like the manipulators in that 'verse.

3. Newsies fandom gives girls rights!!! Well... it gives Mary Sues rights...

I think in this case it may be more, LOGIC AND HISTORICAL ACCURACY WANT RIGHTS!, but canon kinda tramples over all of that too. Um.

4. See, I would be grumpy about Oz, but... he got to live. And as much as people defend what happened to Tara as 'Joss hates true love!!!" etc. etc., it kind of bothered me that in the continuity of Buffy, at least, such relationship-crushing occurred for the most part with the guy leaving (but living), and the girl dying.

Anne of Cleves was stone cold awesome. Not only did she survive Henry, she lived a long happy life in which she pretty much played cards with friends all day long.

The temptation to suggest The Legend is high, but I resist because there's no Fandom. Instead I shall make you do this twice! Once with Pushing Daisies and then again with Gunslinger Girl (which may be next to impossible what with tiny!fandom with a large side of creepy!insane!fandom.

Helpfully,
Ana

We're pretty much in agreement (or something close to it) on Pushing Daisies, so... onto GSG...

1. Yes. No question.

2. Again: yeah.

3. Yes, yes, yes. Also: yes.

4. Now this one has me curious. How come?

CURIOUS!

Oh, OH! I thought you meant the entire Pinnochio arc with Triela and everything. As it turns out, we're in agreement.

I mean, I know what Pinnocio is there to do. He's there to drive the point home that it doesn't take chemicals to build a brainwashed child assassin. But, really, if you didn't get that point without the obvious bits from Pinnochio, it's not clear you'd get it with them, either.

Agreeing then!
