Apr. 30th, 2010 12:48 pmGuys, I am not going to post about the latest episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, mostly because it is too overwhelmingly epic for me to verbalize my thoughts. Uh, which is not to rule out LOTS OF CAPSLOCK in the comments. [ETA: Which there now is with spoilers, so be cautious.] (I know things are just going to get more epic to come. I don't really know how I'm going to handle it. My heart is already too full of love as is! FOR EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING.)
However, there is something that I - okay, still can't verbalize my thoughts about. But I can give you a picspam! THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH. And that is the third Brotherhood OVA: Tales of the Master, otherwise known as the animated version of my favorite FMA extra story ever, otherwise known as baby Izumi Curtis, Our Lady of Kicking Ass, JUDO-THROWS BEARS.

So Izumi has been thrown out to survive on Mount Briggs for a month, in the frozen snow, with nothing but the clothes on her back and a penknife.

Izumi doesn't like snow. :(

But that's okay, because she likes tackling wolfpacks!
Soldiers with guns, beware . . .

SHE'LL KICK YOU APART.

If she happens to discover the meaning of life while in the process of beating up everything on Briggs Mountain, hey, that's an added bonus.

THE BEAR THING NEVER GETS OLD.

So what's a young lady of accomplishments to do with the bear she's just dragged down off Briggs Mountain? Well, for one thing, guys, those things are BABE MAGNETS.

"Miss . . . you dropped your bear."

"Oh, my, how clumsy of me!" says our demure young heroine.

In conclusion, Sig/Izumi: because love means never having to say 'why the hell are you CARRYING A BEAR?'

When you have my heart breaking for ENVY, Arakawa, YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING PRETTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE. (Uh, though not nearly as much as it was breaking for EVERYONE ELSE. Also, this episode: basically the animators' Hawkeye/Mustang ship_manifesto, yes?)
