Jun. 26th, 2007 08:40 amEvery so often, I get the urge to vid, in the way where I hear a song and think "oh, that image would look really cool there! And so would that one and that one and that one and -" However, this is something that I will never actually do, because I am the laziest lazer to ever laze on this planet and vidding is hard. And also I don't have the technology.
It still makes me happy to think about, though, because I always enjoy music more when I can place it in a context. I'm kind of a story addict in all forms, and I like when my music fits into stories, and having songs that I can associate with my fiction. (This is one of the reasons I love musical theater so much: premade context!) I also love stealing other people's playlists and seeing what songs and stories make sense to them when put together. In part because of that whole lazy thing, making other people do my music hunting for me seems like an eminently awesome plan.
This is all rambling buildup to the fact that I am starting a meme! I think. It's probably been done before. And it probably won't catch on. But I hope it does, because I think it's fun:
Name a fictional character in comments, and I will upload (or at least link to lyrics, if it's protected) a song that I associate with them and explain why.

This is pre-canon Sophie - or very early canon, rather, before getting aged, when she's kind of sitting around turning into an old woman even without magic.
Life is Short, Butterfly Boucher (Lyrics)
And, for pretty obvious reasons, this is post-transformation Sophie. *grins*

Date: 2007-06-26 04:50 pm (UTC)Even Gods Do, Thea Gilmore (Lyrics)
Aside from the part about the tree and the fact that it was written about another andain, sort of (Shadow in American Gods) it feels very Galadan to me, with his five zillion shades of gray.

Because it's about being yourself and being kickass. And Alanna is these things!
For Elizabeth:
The King, Steeleye Span (Lyrics)
Because Elizabeth is totally the best-dressed Pirate King EVER. And the mental image of her with little minions to sing her praises makes me giggle.

Puck is all about fascination.
And for Antigone:
Dead Is the New Alive, Emilie Autumn (Lyrics)
This one is really more for during-canon Antigone than post, but still pretty relevant, I feel.
