First of all: YOU'RE GREAT. You have signed up to write for one of these fandoms and are going to create me a gift! In my book that already makes you completely amazing, and I will be very happy with whatever you give me. The main thing is that you have fun writing it! Everything else is just gravy.
Things that I like include: strong ladies, and ladies who are strong in different kinds of ways, and Bechdel Test-passing; ensemble-fic; sibling dynamics; found families; cross-dressing and gender-play; flawed characters working to overcome their flaws; complicated world-building; people having human, mundane reactions to extraordinary events; comedy, poignancy, and stories that mix the two. As a sidenote, I also love crossovers like burning, so if you happen to get inspired by an amazing crossover idea, I totally encourage you to go with it.
I would prefer not to see character-bashing (especially towards female characters) and I'm okay with explicit scenes if you think they're important, but I'd rather they were not the whole point of the fic. At this point I don't really think I'd like for any of these requests to go any darker than their source canon does, but if you have a brilliant idea feel free to overrule me on that!
Fandom: 7 Seeds
Characters: Iwashimizu Natsu, Koruri (7 Seeds), Shishigaki Ran, Suguruno Hana
Details: I love all of these characters, and I think they all have interesting stories to tell! My favorite things about 7 Seeds are the budding friendships, and the team-building, and all the small human frustrations of the apocalypse, and how everyone grows into themselves as a person. I would love ensemble-fic, but I would also just love any fic for this excellent manga at all.
So I nominated the characters I did in this fandom on the general basis of 'one lady per team,' but I really do love them all! My secret favorite team is Team Summer B (team adorable failboats!) and my favorite character is Natsu, and my favorite Natsu ship is Natsu/herself, and also Natsu/TEAM SUMMER B TEAM FRIENDSHIP FIC. If you go with Ran or Koruri, I would really like a story about what's going on with the Team Autumn/Spring/Summer A mashup proto-town in the aftermath of everything went down. (If what you want to write is romance, I ship Koruri/Haru, because they're adorable like puppies and Ran/Nijiko, AMORAL ARCHITECT LESBIANS FOREVER, but do not feel obliged to write a romance!) And if you go with Hana, I would really love to see more about her friendship with Fujiko and Chisa, either early in canon or at the point they're at now.
. . . so as you can see basically I just really wanted to get as many potential characters in there as possible, so seriously, feel free to write about anyone! I LOVE THEM ALL. Especially the ladies.
Fandom: Talisman Ring (Georgette Heyer)
Characters: Miss Sarah Thane, Sir Tristram Shield
Details: Basically I just want Tristram and Sarah and MORE HIJINKS! Tristram may complain but he loves it really.
I deeply enjoy how The Talisman Ring gleefully embraces every wacky melodramatic plot twist possible just so that our protagonists can make fun of it! I don't care what the genre is -- Gothic, adventure on the high seas, detective story, what-have-you -- so long as Tristram and Sarah get accidentally caught up in it and set it right with the power of their mutual common sense. I would be perfectly happy to have Eustacie and Ludovic involved also, and indeed "Eustacie and Ludovic were being idiots again" is probably the simplest way that I can see to get Tristram and Sarah involved in any over-the-top adventure, but if you have a brilliant idea regarding OCs or a terrible distaste for Eustacie and Ludovic you can also feel free to skip them.
Fandom: Revolutionary Girl Utena
Characters: Kiryuu Nanami
Details: NANAMI IS A FREAKCHILD. She makes me laugh hysterically and breaks my heart, often both at the same time, and I would love ANYTHING about her. But some ideas: what about Nanami post-canon? What changes does she make in her life after everything goes down? Or alternately, Nanami with any of the other students. Maybe . . . making an actual genuine connection in her life . . . who isn't her sketchy brother or a creepy elementary schooler? ONE CAN ONLY HOPE.
I am having real trouble putting my feelings about Nanami into words. I JUST LOVE HER SO MUCH. I love her because she's so over-the-top, and so terrible and selfish and self-absorbed much of the time, and because of the three or four times in canon she actually gives someone good advice, and because she wants to be a good mommy to her bizarro egg-baby, and because she's the only one who realizes, towards the end, how disturbing and wrong everything is in Ohtori, and because she requests a transfer. I don't think Nanami is ready to grow up by the end of canon, but I do think she's ready to grow as a person, and I really want to see her do it.
I would be happy to have most of the other characters involved in this, but here is my confession: I especially would like to see of Nanami and Saionji interacting, after their COMPLETELY HILARIOUS scene together in "Nanami's Egg." Saionji clearly has no idea how to cope with the force of nature that is Nanami and it's beautiful to my eyes, so if you wanted to write more awkward hilarity that forces them to grow as people, I would be totally okay with that.
Fandom: Fly By Night
Characters: Mosca Mye, Eponymous Clent
Details: Basically I just want to see more Mosca And Clent Adventures! I am incredibly invested in Mosca and Clent's dynamic, and the way that their uneasy and untrusting alliance is growing inch by painful inch into a real partnership. Anything that illuminates more about that partnership as it develops, I will eat up with a spoon.
Repeat request from last year! If you want more of my Feelings About Mosca Mye and Eponymous Clent you can check out my post about Fly Trap over here, in which I talk about what I love about them for FAR TOO LONG. That being said, while the characters are the most important thing for me here, I also love Frances Hardinge's incredible worldbuilding. If you want to play around with that and expand the universe a little more by sending Mosca and Clent (and Saracen, of course) to a totally new city with its own weird customs, I would be totally fascinated to see that! But if you'd rather have them return to Mandelion or Toll and cameo some other characters, that's totally cool too; I love basically the entire cast of both books and would be happy to see any of them pop up again. Bonus points for Saracen-related hilarity!
