So I totally forgot to note when this happened, because I'm SUPER ON TOP OF THINGS, but my short-short magical realist story "Crowned" went up last month on Daily Science Fiction. If you happened to visit me any time between 2009 and 2011, you'll recognize the mural.

(In other news, for the next week I'm in Portland! Oregon, not Maine. It is deeply surreal not to be surrounded by snow.)

Are you leaving on Thursday, or would there be another opportunity?

Yeah, I'm leaving Thursday night. Happy hour downtown would be possible, though -- the conference ends at 5 and is located at the downtown Hilton, if you wanted to try for that!

And I get off work at 5pm, two MAX stops south of the Hilton. Easy-peasy. :-)

It looks like we have a plan!

One minor clarification: there are technically now two downtown Hiltons, the main hotel (fronting on 6th) and the Executive Tower (across 6th, fronting on Salmon). Let's make sure we all have the right lobby....

I'll be the one in the rather worn tweed deerstalker hat.

Having now actually been to the conference, it's the main Hilton of which we speak!
