skygiants: Princess Tutu, facing darkness with a green light in the distance (at the library!)

So I've been thinking a bit recently about the end of the year, and the end of college, and how much I'm going to miss - well, a lot of things. But one of the things I'm going to miss the most is just being an English major, and getting to go to class every day and just talk about books. With people who actually care, and will talk back. (Even if only because their grade rests on it. What can I say, I'm not picky.) I'm excited about graduating! But next year, odds are looking pretty good that I'm going to be in a new city, away from most of the people who will tolerate me babbling about books at them, and while I am sure I will meet new people, and they will be lovely, there is no guarantee that they will be at all interested in rambling about fiction. I have a sort of worrisome feeling I may go through withdrawal.

Fortunately, I have this journal, and I have you all! I very much respect all of your opinions in a lot of areas, books being among them; I want to hear from you, and I am also very fond (possibly, as some of you can attest, slightly too fond) of recommending books to people. I've done that a little on here, but when the new year comes around, I'm thinking of maybe beginning to bookblog in earnest. Not necessarily deep literary thoughts or anything like that - just babbling about the things I read, in hopes of getting people to babble back at me.

On the other hand, considering how much I tend to read, that's a lot of babbling.

So!

Hey, Becca, thanks for understanding my occasional bits of humor (was going to write "sarcasm," but I hope it doesn't go to that extreme).

I just looked over your LJ profile, and I detect real possibilities of us getting along well (despite a perhaps-inauspicious launch). Care to "friend"??

BTW I was intrigued by your belonging to the "squidses" group (mainly Ozzies, I ssee); I bounced around there, and left a comment.

Hugs, Justine

BTW I like your title or motto -- "like sanity termites." Wonderful summing-up.

Would you care to "friend,
