Jul. 12th, 2020 11:16 pmLast week, Jang Man Wohl's red wedding murder outfit generated great excitement both within and external to the polls, ultimately carrying the day:

We've got a relatively short post today -- with just two episodes left, this week is both plot and flashback-heavy, making for a relative dearth of outfits that we haven't seen before.
1.

This first dress is reasonably dramatic, but I did not find it that exciting until I realized that it was targeted to highlight an accessory.

Specifically, this beautiful bloodstained hairpin ...

... which transforms into a knife, which makes this mottled-red dress ideal for not showing bloodstains.

Also, the pattern when seen close up is really neat, and the shoes are incredible.
2.

OK, so the thing about this black shirtdress is, I would wear it to work, but I almost feel that in a Jang Man Wohl costume poll that's more of a pro than a con? I expect Jang Man Wohl's style to transcend mine, not be more or less exactly on my relatively basic level.

Also IMO she's also doing this dress no favors by wearing it for an encounter with the ghost of her past ... as has already been established, Backstory Jang Man Wohl had a hell of a style and I'm not sure this perfectly fine dress can really compete.
3.

This black dress I like better! The gauze overlayer with the stripes and the bow provides significantly more visual interest.

The blood-red quill pen is a nice touch ... I don't think we've seen her use it before in any one of her signing-documents sequences so it feels safe to say she brought it out just to complement the Edgar Allen Poe vibe of the dress, as indeed it does.
4.

Jang Man Wohl hasn't been putting a lot of energy into her hairstyling this episode, but she pulls it out at the end: after several episodes, we've finally got another Big Hat!

The suit is very nice in and of itself too, I'm all about the belted look and that double-breasted row of buttons.

It's sort of a grayscale Carmen Sandiego ... and I mean, am I a little disappointed it's not actually signature Carmen Sandiego red? Sure. On the other hand, is grayscale appropriate for a journey halfway to the afterlife? I guess.
PS: if you have fun with costume poll nonsense and feel like & are able to toss a buck towards the Mass Bail Fund or some other related org when you cast your vote, I encourage!
