Dear Yuletide author,

Thank you so much for writing for me! In all the years I have done Yuletide, I have never failed to be overjoyed by the gifts I've received; if you write something that makes you happy, I guarantee I will be delighted with it also.

I am always interested in ensemble and family stories, community-building and community dynamics, revolutionary politics, romance built on loyalty and trust, interesting twists on reincarnation, and antagonistic relationships with fate and destiny! For my requests this year I'm generally more interested in expanding on canon than in going AU in either plot or setting, but I'm broadly pro crossover if you have a brilliant idea for one.

Some of these canons deal with some pretty serious topics, and dark themes are A-OK if it makes sense for the story, but I tend not to be into graphic and gratuitous violence. I'm happy for romances to include sexual content but I'd prefer it wasn't the entire point of the fic.

And now for the specific requests:

Fandom: 시카고 타자기 | Chicago Typewriter (TV)
Characters: Han Se-Joo, Jeon Seol, Yoo Jin-Oh
Details: Sometimes two reincarnated humans and a ghost love each other very much, and sometimes they love each other SO much that the humans publish novel-length RPF ABOUT the ghost, and sometimes they then all live happily ever after! OK, that last part didn't officially happen yet in canon but it was strongly implied that it MIGHT and now it can! in your fic! if you feel so inspired! :D

I love this ghost OT3, please give me more ghost OT3! (Okay technically only one of them is a ghost.) Some ideas:

Writing and/or revolutions! Shin Yool was also writer in the past, though the story doesn't spend a lot of time on that; does Yoo Jin Oh now want a fiction writing career of his own? Or does he -- or the whole trio! -- get involved in using their pens for contemporary battles against injustice? Maybe a ghost can do research that ordinary humans can't? (MAYBE A CROSSOVER WITH HEALER.)

Or - FANDOM HIJINKS! Is Jeon Seol still a BNF? Did Se Joo ever find her fanfic about him? Did her RPF experience help make it less weird for Han Se-Joo to write his own lengthy published RPF about their past lives? Are people now writing fanfic for the published novel, and how weird is it for all of them (or not weird at all for Jeon Seol?)

Or - kidfic! I received a delightful fic on this theme a few years ago but I hunger for more. Parenting in a family where one partner is a ghost? WHAT IF there's another awkward kidfic reincarnation situation? ...please don't have Shin Yool reincarnate as their child, that would be SIGNIFICANTLY TOO AWKWARD. But an opponent from their revolutionary past could be really interesting!

Fandom: 힐러 | Healer
Characters: Chae Chisoo, Chul-min, Jo Minja, Kang Daeyong
Details: I'd be thrilled to read any fic you wanted to write about any characters inside or out of the tag set, but this year I'm especially interested in Young-shin's coffeeshop dads and their incredible coparenting -- I would love to read the epic romance of Chae Chisoo and Chul-min!

When canon gives you, as incidental side character backstory, "a widowed public defender invites his former client, a petty thief, to work with him at his coffeeshop, where they end up co-parenting his adopted daughter," it seems almost like a crime that no one's actually explored this in detail before? This is a gift that Healer has given us and I do not think we have collectively appreciated it to a sufficient degree. Please feel free to write this for me as either an incredibly tropey romance or an adorable found family fic, I just want kdrama's absolute best dads to get their due!

That said, if the coffeeshop dads aren't singing to you, I also love both Jo Minja and Kang Daeyong very much and would love any fic you wanted to write about either or both of them. I love Minja and her sushi and her knitting and the detective with a starry-eyed crush on her (I ship it in a way where I actually ship it, and I also ship it in a way where he pines after her forever and it never goes anywhere, it's ALL GOOD); I love the backstory! I could read about pirate radio forever! And for years I have been hoping that someone would write me some of this imaginary sequel series about Minja, Myun-hee, and Dae-yeong fighting for justice.


Fandom: The Night of the Solstice - L. J. Smith
Characters: Alys Hodges-Bradley Charles Hodges-Bradley Claudia Hodges-Bradley Janie Hodges-Bradley
Details: I've always been desperate to know what happened after the end of the duology -- how does Alys do as the ambassador to Findahl? What's going on with Merlin? And do the Hodges-Bradley parents ever actually find out anything about what's been going on? I'd love to read anything about what the Hodges-Bradley kids do next, with any Arthuriana that you want to throw in an added bonus.

I love the Hodges-Bradley kids SO MUCH and at heart I truly just want to read more of their adventures! There are so many fun loose ends left at the end of the series, between Alys' new role as ambassador, Janie's plan to compete for her staff, the disappearance of Merlin, Charles' doomed fairy romance -- I'd be most interested in stories that feature two or more of the kids together (the relationship between Alys and Janie is especially important to me, but I also love Charles and Claudia and really appreciate both of them as more grounded when set against Alys' heroics and Janie's mad-scientist tendencies) but I'd honestly be happy reading any ideas you have about what comes next for any of the kids, either right after the books when they're still teens or as they grow older and into their various roles.

I'm also really into the bits of Arthuriana woven through the series, and I'd be really stoked for you to dig into that more if that's something you felt like doing. I love all the hints that Alys is in some way or another the heir to (or reincarnation of?) Arthur and would be really interested to see a take on how she (and the other kids) handle that and everything that comes with it; Alys is so earnest and duty-bound that I can see her falling into a lot of the traditional Arthurian traps, and it would be really fun to see how her siblings help her navigate them and avoid making some of the classic blunders. I also really dig the uneasy connection between her and Merlin and if you wanted to lean into that more I wouldn't be at all opposed!

Thanks again for writing something for me this year -- I'm so stoked to see what you come up with!
