skygiantsI HAVE A NEW LAPTOP! It is shiny and pretty and its hard drive does not sound like it is full of very angry bees! All of these things make me very, very happy. I have named it Claire, in the hopes that it will take a hint from its namesake and be relatively indestructible, and also so that I can shout 'UNCLEFUCKER' at it in times of stress.
In other news, grades have come back and are pleasing, and I spent the day in a little puddle of nostalgia in the children's section of my hometown library, which is still the best local library for fiction I've ever visited. I didn't find the specific books I had intended to check out, but there was still wandering of the shelves and finding the books I used to read every couple months when I was little still sitting on the shelves exactly where I'd left them last time I was up there - a few years ago, now - and flipping through them and resisting the urge to check ALL of them out and wallow in nostalgia even more. All the ones, you know, that you can't actually remember the titles or the authors of, or even the whole plot, but some elements just stick in your mind and stay with you forever, and the only way you can find them again is if you know where to look -
I do not want to move back to my hometown after I graduate, but the biggest incentive for me if I did want to would be my local library. *moves in, never leaves*
