I only read 127 full-length books this year, which is significantly fewer than last year. Part of that is because I read much, much, MUCH more manga (90 volumes); part of that is the relatively strict reading quota I was keeping in terms of trying to read more nonfiction and more books by non-white authors; part is trying to write every day. I'm not sorry about any of these things, but I still do want to read more books next year. (I also have a few books I haven't reviewed yet there at the end, but that'll happen this week when I'm back at work.)

Date: 2011-01-02 02:20 am (UTC)You should read more Oyeyemi and then REVIEW HER. She writes the same story again and again, but in an interesting way, I think. But it's also interesting because it's so obvious.
Also, Dragonwings. *_* I didn't know until very recently that Laurence Yep wrote fantasy, but when I was growing up I had this one book by him and I loved it so much. I read it a million times.

ALSO I LOVE LAURENCE YEP SO MUCH. It is now a lifetime goal of mine to read everything he has ever written.
