Jul. 20th, 2011 10:54 amOkay, I know I promised some of you a Golden Girls costume poll, but I kind of want to wait on that until I've seen some more episodes and have a bigger pool to draw from. So for now, we continue with You're Beautiful!
Last week's landslide victor over several talented contenders was Tae Kyeung, with his extremely stylish homicidal cowl:

(In the comments,
jinian provided the obvious derivation of this fashion:

It takes a rare man to pull off sandworm chic, guys.)
This week again challenged my decision-making ability SO HARD. You have no idea what I suffer every week as I attempt to narrow down the options to five, guys. The life of a costume picspammer is a lonely and difficult one.
1.
Let's start with last week's winner: Tae Kyeung, impeccable as always in a black skinny tie paired with a . . . black ribbon chain? I think? The ginormous COOL GLASSES really just add to the effect.

No, wait, TWO random necklaces over the tie, one a black ribbon chain and one a silver key. To complete the doubling theme, he also appears to be wearing two separate button-down shirts.
I would also like you to note his fabulously dressed mother with her EQUALLY fabulous glasses. At least he comes by it honestly!
2.
Jeremy, on the other hand, seems to be dressed down pretty reasonably, red high-top sneakers aside, until you take a closer look. . .

. . . and realize that not only does his jersey have only one sleeve . . .

. . . it's also apparently worn slashed, open, over another jersey. Why does everyone in this band wear two shirts at all times? Is the risk of having rogue fangirls leap out and try to undress you really such a danger?
3.
Meanwhile, Go Mi Nyu, as the new member of the band, has decided to try her best to fit in and wear what looks like two shirts and a jacket, all in different plaids.

Look, I realize it's exciting to be a wardrobe designer with an unlimited budget, but that doesn't mean you have to dress the cast in everything they own all at once!
For the record, this is what Go Mi Nyu - in super manly disguise - wears for promo fashion photographs. I'm not sure exactly what image they're trying to present, but . . . I guess it's a vision!
4.
In the other corner, Stylist Wang is still trying valiantly to steal the stage out from under the main cast with what I will freely admit is an extremely snazzy hat. If I owned that jaunty green bowler, I would wear it everywhere.

To continue the theme, she has also outdone everybody by wearing three shirts. Or maybe two shirts and a pashmina? A shirt, a jacket, and a vest over the jacket? It's very coordinated-looking, I'll give her that.
And if the green bowler is not enough to claim the victory, well -
5.
SHE WILL JUST HAVE TO TRY AGAIN.

And she would like you to know that when it comes to fashion, she is the ballsiest of all. Seriously, look at this GQMF Victorian mourning veil!

(But at least she's only wearing one shirt.)
